Masquerade Slot Review
Venetian masquerade ball-themed slots are far from being new, but Red Tiger Gaming’s entry into this genre does provide players with a new take on the theme. Designed with wonderful 3D graphics, and a few limited (but prosperous) special features, Masquerade offers a slightly different taste to a genre most of us are familiar with by now. The game comes with a 2-3-4-3-2 reel structure, and a handful of progressive jackpot prizes to boot. Although the RTP (return to player) rate isn’t as high as perhaps many players would like (at 95.11%) the special features do seem to guarantee wins on a fairly frequent basis, which certainly is something that we all look for in a slot.
Theme and Symbols
The masquerade ball theme is stylized in this slot, with an elegant and classy backdrop bettered only by the top hat, pocket watch, golden ring and masked lady symbols on the reels. Sure, there are a few high playing card icons to boot in this game, and they are only worth between 10x and 200x your total bet, but the thematic symbols are what we’re excited about.
The top hat can deliver wins that range from 40x up to 250x your total bet, and the pocket watch and ring symbols from 50x up to 300x, and 80x up to 500 your total bet, respectively. However, it is the masked lady icon that packs a punch as this lovely gal can award you up to 1,000x your total bet if five appear on a payline.
There is no wild symbol present in this game, at least not by default. However, there are two special features which can boost your winnings and effectively act as wilds. More on those in a minute – first, let’s look at the progressive jackpot the game carries.
This is delivered by landing jackpot icons three times. You will either walk away with the Quick Hit, Super or Mega Jackpot prizes with these symbols. However, a Daily Jackpot has also been included which must be won each day within the timeframe allocated to the left of the reels. Understandably, this Daily Jackpot is worth less than the biggest standard progressive prizes.
The twin bonuses you can find in this game include the Royal Masque and the Golden Masque. The Royal Masque is a colossal symbol, covering all three central reels of the slot. When it does so, it can turn itself into a colossal standard paying symbol, dishing out a significant win. As for the Golden Masque, this symbol is standard sized but can turn itself into standard paying icons, too.
Our Take on Masquerade
Although the Royal Masque and Golden Masque symbols in this game are not wilds, the effect these mystery symbols have on the outcome of a spin is not far off from what wilds would do. As a result, the lack of true and proper wilds is not as bad as first thought in Masquerade. Glitzy and glamorous, this Red Tiger Gaming slot is at the very least worth a look.
