Planet of the Apes Slot Review
Planet of the Apes Slot Review
We’ve seen Planet of the Apes slot machines before, but not quite like this. What NetEnt have developed here is one of the most visually stunning mobile slots of all time. Playable on your favorite smartphones, tablets and on computers, Planet of the Apes can deliver two sets of reels to players, although it is effectively a 10-reel, 20-line slot.
You might think that this will cause all sorts of carnage when it comes to your bets, but it doesn’t. In fact, Planet of the Apes still cost as little as $0.20 per spin (to play with both sets of reels) and costs no more than $200 a game at its costliest.
Theme and Symbols
Planet of the Apes is not based on one film. This franchise slot machine game is actually based on the two most recent entries in the Planet of the Apes film series: Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The way that both have been expertly merged into one slot is terrific and even if you aren’t necessarily a fan of the franchise, there’s a lot to like about what it has to offer.
Most of the symbols which appear on the reels of this game are high-playing card icons, although there are ample thematic symbols (both apes and men) to satisfy your desire for authenticity and realism in this mobile slot. Graphically, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a mobile slot which can trump it.
Two wild symbols appear in this game (one for Rise and one for Dawn) and two different scatters, too. Wild symbols appear on Rise reels will offer stacked wilds on both sets of reels (Rise reels and Dawn reels).
At any point during the game, the Dual Feature may trigger randomly. When it is, a symbol will be selected from each set of reels and become sticky. The good news here is that it also transfers over the other set of reels if it appears on the wrong ones.
Rise bonus scatters can trigger a Rise Feature if they land on the first reel. In that bonus, an instant win prize can be had when apes and human appear on the Rise reels. Landing the Dawn scatter on the tenth reel (or fifth Dawn reel, if you want to look at it that way) triggers a Dawn Feature whereby all ape and human symbols turn into the same icon.
Rise/Dawn Free Spin Bonuses
There are two free spin bonuses available, too. Three scatters on the Rise reels offer a Rise Bonus in which players get 10 spins with all wilds collected and dished out on a super spin (the final spin). However, three Dawn scatters on the Dawn reels will trigger the Dawn Bonus, in which players get 15 spins with multipliers, extra free spin icons to fill up meters for added bonuses, and extra wild symbols.
